These are for polymer magazines, and they do work. However, I''m always afraid that if I tighten them too much, they''ll snap. Also, I use Bulgarian 40 round mags, which maybe makes a difference compared to 30 round mags, because the magazines move with the mag coupler being a pivot point, and the tops or bottoms touch each other.
