I just traded up from my (horribly inaccurate) Romanian WASR-10/63. Finally realizing that weekly trips to the range require something more accurate and manageable than the ferocious, but terribly, terribly, inaccurate AK. I love this new entry from the guys that brought you the 700 series and the ubiquitous 870 shotgun. it's exactly like an AR-15/M-16 or any of their variants, accepts all the aftermarket hi-cap mags, and can shave a peach at 100yds. It likes all the cheap and quality rounds i gave it. Wolf 55gr, Winchester 62gr., and Win.Super-X 64gr. I don't have any grouping charts or anything, but i didn't notice much of a difference, with all of them being between 2 and 3 inches w/o a bipod or bag, prone. I picked it out from it, a Colt match target 20", and a Bushmaster 20" Target. the colt was the same price, the Bushy was about $150 less...Holding the three of them, the remington by far felt like the ferrari next to a couple mustangs (i drive a 06' GT, and i love it) The Colt and Bushy weren't free floating AND they had very cheap foregrips in plastic, as opposed to the forged fre-floating aluminum foregrip on the R-15. The Remington was the only flattop in the bunch. kinda weird, i thought, since target was in their names and they were obviously best suited to wear optics. So i decided on the Remington. The Gunshop fellow didn't have much of an opinion on which one was the better of the three, he told me they were essentially all the same, just with some different features...The camo is also really nice, I was a black gun freak before this, But this max1 stuff looks pretty cool.
