Vltor Weapons Systems
First time offered to the small arms market, a stock system that fits both the standard AR-15/M16A2 rifle receiver extension and the CAR-15/M4 Carbine collapsible receiver extension. Now the operator has the ability to install either the Collapsible Carbine Modstock for close quarter combat purposes or, within seconds, install the fixed Rifle Modstock providing the proper length of pull and cheek weld needed for the distant match shooting. This all can be done with the same firearm receiver without changing the receiver extension.
The Vltor Modstock is a superior upgrade over the standard M4 or Carbine buttstock.The Basic Modstock incorporates two watertight storage compartments to hold batteries, or other similar sized items. The storage compartments also provide more surface area to ensure a more comfortable cheekweld.Available in Standard or Clubfoot model, in Black, Tan, or OD Green. Fitting carbine length AR-15s, these kits include 5-position receiver extension, buffer, spring, receiver lock plate and a M4 lock nut. Buttstocks include 2 accessory compartments. Sling swivels accept military style nylon slings.
LEGAL NOTE:The Vltor Modstock system for AR type rifles can be used on some post-ban (1994 Crime Bill) configured firearms. The only Modstock system allowed on a post-ban (1994 Crime Bill) rifle is the Rifle Modstock and only when mounted to a Rifle Receiver Extension (Colt part# SP61574). The use of a Collapsible Stock Receiver Extension on a post-ban (1994 Crime Bill) rifle is strictly prohibited by federal law (Section 922 of title 18, United States Code). Vltor Weapons System recommends the installer and/or the firearm's owner to check with local, state and federal law before attempting installation/possession of any product manufactured or sold by Vltor Weapon Systems .
