The Bushmaster Carbon 15 M4 Carbine is a revolutionary twist on the traditional AR-15. It has molded Carbon 15 upper and lower recievers, allowing for a weight saving of 3/4 of a pound when compared with traditional aluminum recievers. Also, the Carbon 15 is 40% stronger than alluminum, protecting it from moisture and corrosion. A six position telestock allows for ultimate comfort when firing. The Flat-rop Picatinny Rail creates room for a scope or other apparatus to be mounted. The Carbon 15 M4 Carbine is an all-around solid rifle.

Bushmaster Carbon 15

I suppose the rating has more to do with whether or not the rifle fits the need for which it was bought. I wanted a handy, light weight rifle that will be used mainly for defense. I'm a big fan of the old M-1 .30 Cal carbine, but it just doesn't have the ballastics of the .223. There are more accurate guns than the Car15, but 1.5 to 2.0 MOA @ 100 yards is more than enough for a defense rifle; and certainly enough for me. The polymer receiver was a little disconcerning when I first looked at the gun. But, when compared to metal receivers, there is a weight difference. Put in some Magpul poly mags, and you have a very nice package. In this case, the Car15 meets my needs perfectly, and I give it 5 stars.
